What's up this week...

It's amazing how one week can make such a difference, but I really feel Carson moving around inside now, no longer just little fluttery feelings! I get so excited every time I feel him. He is moving around so much and so often I think my bladder feels it the most. I realize he is going to get a lot bigger and I don't know how my bladder can take much more! Oh well he is worth the getting up 4 times a night to pee! I even thought I had a UTI and got checked out and everything, but it is just baby. My back has begun to hurt this last week as well. I realize high heels are a bad idea when your center of gravity changes and the back pain is just not worth it. I hope the back pain was because of wearing heels to a wedding instead of just from pregnancy, because it was killing me the next few days. I guess wearing them to church today was also a bad idea! whoops. I have had back issues in the past anyways so I figured back pain was going to be something I would have to endure anyway, so that is no surprise. Once again so worth it! Especially when you know how temporary pregnancy really is, I mean I am halfway there and I am just now getting some aches and pains, but not much longer and it will all be gone! Just remind me this when it gets worse!!!! haha.
As I write this Eric is hammering away in Carson's room nailing up baseboards. It is looking very nice in there. I got the wrong crown molding and have to return it so that will go up later. A toy chest/bench and bookshelf has been ordered and is on its way, that is really exciting! It is in sage green. And we found a crib we like, we are just going to look a little bit more before we place the order.

In other news, Daisy is doing good, haha. She is not forgotten with Carson on his way! Daisy is still on medicine for her mange issue she has had. The first medicine she was on for a whole month and it didn't work so she is taking another one, poor mangy doggie! We still love her though!
While Eric has been working in the garage today, Daisy has been guarding her house. And she still runs away from us, hence the leash!

Halfway mark and Carson's room...

Halfway there to meeting our baby boy!!!! We can't wait! That means time for the fun stuff, like working on his room!

Carson's room was once the room we threw stuff in that we didn't know where to store otherwise. That had to change and so now Eric has been busy on his days off cleaning out the room by finding a place for all the stuff, mostly goodwill. Then we picked out the paint color and on his days off he is busy painting. He started with a fresh coat of white on the ceiling and now the walls are "applesauce cake". It is nice to see the room looking good after being a junk room for so long. He still has another coat to do on the walls, it just takes a while when you don't have several days off in a row to work on projects. We also got crown molding and new baseboards for Carson, becuase he is so worth it! haha. We got a new fan for Christmas for his room since we took the one out of there to put in the office, so that has also made a big difference. His bedding has also already been purchased, his room is a barnyard theme with animals. I love his bedding, the horse and barn and some other parts are done in corduroy, so I am trying to find some red corduroy fabric to have my mom make a valence out of it. I want to use a lot of red accents in the room. I love his bedding because it is baby looking without the pastel colors. He will have a big boy room soon enough, he'll want sports once his daddy gets a hold of him I am sure, so I am going to enjoy his baby room while I can! We still have furniture to get and I really want an old antique window to hang in his room that I can paint red, so I am looking for one of those too-maybe to hang pictures in above his changing table. I probably won't hang much else on the walls other than that so that we can have a muralist come and paint some cute vintage looking barnyard stuff on the walls to fill in. We also have a little niche in the wall where we either need to get some sort of bookshelf or have shelving made to fit there. So we have been able to get some stuff done now while Eric has had some time off, but luckily there is more to do to keep us busy while we wait for Carson. I will post pictures of the room as soon as the moldings are up so you can see the color we chose. For now here is a picture of Carson's barnyard bedding.

20 week ultrasound!!!!

Pretty much the cutest little guy ever is what we walked away thinking after this fun ultrasound. Not that we are at all bias or anything! Our parents went with us so we all got to see Carson show off how cute he is. We also walked away with another DVD of the whole ultrasound, as you can see Carson gives his DVD two thumbs up!
The gal said he weighs 11 oz. and everything looked great. His legs look so long in the one picture, so cute. Eric took the day off and so he just LOVED seeing Carson move all around and see his adorable little face. We're pretty much in love with this little guy already! Too bad we have to wait a few more months. Now I have new pictures and video of him and I will sit and stare at him for hours instead of doing anything productive. : )

A baby food maker...

I have had a gift card to Williams-Sonoma for a few months now and just didn't know what to get with it, until a couple of weeks ago when I saw this beauty! I have always known I would make the majority of my baby's food because my biggest pet peev is a picky eater and I just refuse to have one of my own. I think a really great way to get a kid to eat real veggies is to give them real veggies pureed from the beginning without added sugars and such. I am totally not knocking baby food in a jar, I will use that too for convenience I am sure. Eric and I are just into healthy eating, it will be our parenting quirk. So this beauty steams the food and blends and purees it. Then you can throw it in ice cube trays and store it in bags in your freezer. So you don't have to do a lot of cleaning, just one thing does it all. As he gets older we just throw in whatever we are eating for dinner into this and he learns to eat the foods we eat. I also got the book below on some recipes to get baby to learn to like herbs and spices, it has really good recipes, it helps babies to have a gourmet palate one day. haha. So although it is early to get this I had a gift card that I needed to use before I lost it and it was a pricey item so it was now or never. So it will just stay tucked away for a while. I am really excited about this though!

18 weeks!

I am growing at a very rapid rate it seems lately. Here I am at 18 weeks. I don't really think I look this pregnant until I see a picture because with it being cold and all I am usually in a sweatshirt and bundled up and don't notice the belly so much. I have been feeling really good, except I think my thyroid levels are low, my doctor wants me to get it checked in a month again. I am on a supplement already, but I have been tired, my hair is falling out like crazy, my skin is super dry, and not to mention at my last appointment I gained a ridiculous amount of weight in a short amount of time. So I am hoping that my dose will get increased soon so I don't become bald, gain 100 pounds in my pregnancy, shed skin like a snake everyday and get nothing done because I am too tired. Once the thyroid stuff is figured out I think I will be feeling really great, but I have still been feeling good so I can't really complain. My next ultrasound is coming up soon and I can't wait for that! I especially can't wait for Eric to see him! I will have so many pictures of this little guy before he is even born!
I also want to say that I still think constantly of those who are still going through infertility!!! I met some great people online who have been through a lot and still praying for a pregnancy. I don't want to sound like I have forgotten just because I am pregnant, I havn't! I still think and pray for them all the time! I hope I don't sound like I am gloating, I hope it gives hope that pregnancy is achievable, even after 1 1/2 years of taking all the medications available!
