We have been really busy lately! The tile project continues still because we took a few days off to go to the beach for a much needed vacation from projects. Eric has been working like crazy trying to get it all done, but without whole days to work on tile, it has turned into a never ending project. But we managed to get away, and we had a really good time. Maybe when I have a computer hooked up I will post a couple pics of our trip. Eric's parents and grandma were there for 2 nights, so we hung out with them and had a good time. Then we stayed an extra night and we went to Hearst Castle and did a tour, then saw the elephant seals, shopped in San Luis, and ate good food. So it was a nice trip. Strange knowing the whole time we were there that it would be our last vacation without a child! Weird to think about.
I had a doctors appointment today. The doctor was in one of his really good moods today, I got the "Hey Em!" as he entered the room, which always tells me he is in his happy go lucky mood. haha. Not that he is ever in a really bad mood, but I can tell somedays when he is a little stressed maybe. I mean he is an obgyn, they are busy folks! My doctor did a quick ultrasound and we saw that Carson was laying transverse. It was funny because I always feel Carson move on my left side and right before the doctor walked in Carson gave a huge kick on my right side and I never feel him over there. So he must have done a flip in the last couple days. Sure enough the ultrasound showed Carson's feet on my right side. He said it is still okay he is not head down at this point. He just better be when the time comes. I also talked to him about how my stomach has been getting really tight at times lately. When we were at the beach we went on a couple of short walks in the evening and my stomach would get so stinkin' hard. My doctor said it was normal to have the contractions, but if they get too frequent to lay down. In the third trimester contractions happen all the time, usually they are not noticable though. And drinking more water may also help I think it tends to happen after a lot of walking around and doing too much. I will try not to overdo it so it doesn't happen too often. We also found out I needed the Rogam shot because I am Rh- and Eric is Rh+ so I had to get the shot. I had to get it at the hospital I will deliver at so it was good because I was able to register for when I deliver so I got that out of the way too. I had to get the blood work done, then go back a couple hours later for the shot, so today was a long day. When I went back for the shot my mother in law, Carol, went with me and we were able to see a room at the hospital. That definetely makes it more real seeing where I will deliver and all. And I have to say the rooms are very nice! I am as excited as I can be for the whole labor and delivery thing. I am excited for Carson of course, but a little nervous about the getting him out part. haha. I am thankful I made the switch in doctors that also meant the switch in hospitals because I think I will be happier there. It is further away from us, but well worth it. My sister in law is a nurse in L&D there so that is nice too. I will get the 411 on the good and bad nurses. Always a good thing to know. I feel more prepared now since I had never been to the labor and delivery part of that hopital, now I will know where to go when the time comes. Now we just wait some more...

We found our crib!
Our crib will be delivered tomorrow, we found one we LOVE!!! It was funny because every time I went looking for a crib I had this image of one in my head that I thought would be perfect if I could just find one similar. I ended up looking online at a bunch of places and found the PERFECT crib, the one I couldn't seem to get out of my head. I can't wait for it to be here so I can see it in person. It was also hard to find one in a lighter wood color, I just don't like the dark wood finishes, too tradional looking for our country themed baby room. So I ended up with exactly what I have been looking for. Even better is the fact I also had an image of a changing table with an open shelf for easy access to diapers and wipes and other things you need handy, but also drawers for clothes. I also needed a smaller changing table instead of a long one. This crib had the perfect dresser to match with 3 open little cubbies that were just what I wanted! I can't wait to see it tomorrow! The changing table will be here the first week in April, then Carson's room will be fully furnished!
Carson is moving around a lot, especially in the mornings. The other day I woke up to him moving all around and I would press on my one side and he would kick back. It was like we were playing with each other, it was so cool. It makes me want to meet him even more! I feel like a kid on a car ride asking "are we there yet, are we there yet" as much as I enjoy being pregnant, I really want to meet him already, so I find myself asking "are we there yet!?" I am getting closer for sure, but at the same time I feel like it is so far still. This weekend Eric and I are going to the beach with his family and I realize that will be the last trip without towing around a kiddo with us. So I am trying to enjoy the last little while we have just us. We look forward to taking Carson with us on trips so we are not sad about this being our last together just us, we are excited to take a little one with us. So although I want time to go a little faster so we can meet Carson, I also want to enjoy our time just us. We have become so use to just the two of us seeing as we met right out of high school. We dated 4 years, and have been married almost 4 years. So it will be an adjustment for us for sure, since we are use to our quiet, spontaneous little life. Go where we want, when we want. That will change, haha. So I will try to enjoy what we have now for the little time we have left. Then I will more than welcome our new life with a kid gladly!!! We are so ready! Especially now that his room will be furnished! Once our other computer is hooked up (the tile project is still in progress) I will post pictures of his crib. And I will post belly pictures too, but I will wait until I get the professional ones to show you that Lorie promised would make me look skinny, right?! Lorie is on my blogroll, she took some maternity pictures of me and Eric. She took us to a gorgeous place, so I look forward to seeing those! I am excited to have pictures to document how happy we are to be having a baby!!! Well I will post more about that and other things later, right now I am off to watch 24, the best show EVER!!!

Holy Moly the third trimester!
I can't believe I am in my third trimester, the final stretch, as in baby Carson soon!!! Yay!!! I actually have been so excited that the thought of actually HAVING the baby and labor and all that hasn't really crossed my mind much. I am thankful for drugs so that helps. It's going to happen whether I like or not is my attitude so I might as well not be anxious. And I don't want a C-section, but if I had to have one then so be it, I just want my baby! Maybe the HAVING the baby part will get more real when my doctor starts talking to me about it, I have still had the really easy doctors appts where there isn't much talking going on, just listening for the heartbeat and measuring the belly.
I have a feeling this trimester might go a little slower in the sense that I am starting to feel pregnant. I haven't been able to do my 30 minutes on my treadmill the last few days because of the lovely back pain that accompanies carrying a baby that weighs more now. I just kept going up on the incline and Eric kept telling me I need to do the opposite and go easier as I am pregnant and all. I was feeling so good I kept increasing the intensity, he ended up with the last laugh! I havn't used the treadmill in a few days now. I took Daisy on a walk yesterday and my left hip felt like it was out of socket. My tailbone kills me too, ouch!!! And I had my first night of feeling horrible from overdoing it. I just havn't had a lot of pregnancy related issues until now and so I realized the other night that after doing like 5 loads of laundry, cleaning out my bathroom cabinets, going to the gym, taking Daisy on a walk, grocery shopping and whatever else I did that day I went to bed miserable. I was actually so tired, but couldn't sleep because I had restless legs and I just hurt all over. In fact ever since then I have been feeling like I need to back off a little bit. It is really hard though because I feel like I have the energy to do so much and then my body reminds me I have a baby and I need to chill. It's weird not being able to do what you want though, I guess I am glad I am just now getting to this point though since I am on the home stretch. I am so thankful for all the pregnancy related symptoms, it means Carson is growing and if he is the reason I am uncomfortable than that is okay with me!!!!
In other news...my house is a disaster as Eric is laying tile throughout most of our house. He had to take out the existing tile, oh what a mess!!!!!!! He took it out last week, he would come home from work then start tearing it out and work until 1 or 2 in the morning. Then he was off this weekend and has been laying and making all the cuts. It is such a huge job! We are doing our laundry room/office, hallways, entry, kitchen. Then tomorrow he is off to work again and then he has his last class for this quarter. So he will resume laying the tile on Tues. after work. So my house is going to be a mess for a really long time. My house is so stinking dirty and stuff is everywhere, it is really hard to live in this mess. I can't cook, I can't clean, I can't do laundry, but I know it will be nice to have it all done before Carson gets here. I can also finally get our carpets cleaned when this is all done. Eric's back is killing him after tiling so I think now that we both have backs that kill us we need a couples massage after our house gets put back together and I clean it top to bottom, oh I am exhausted just thinking about the cleaning. Not to mention he just did 2 huge presentations for his class and a test tomorrow on top of the tile project he decided to do. Yes I think I will have to splurge and get a massage for us! I will showoff my handy husbands tile work once it is done. I am too tired and stressed so I am going to get a bath now instead of posting the pictures.

Doctor Day...
Another uneventful doctors appointment, which is a good thing! His heartbeat is good and I only gained a pound in the last month, go me!!! That means I gained baby weight and not extra me weight so I am happy with that. I have had two bad months when I more than made up for that so don't think I am not gaining weight, I have! There is something so nice about going to his office, it is so quiet and relaxing actually. He doesn't allow children so that is really nice, no sick kids or annoying kids that make you go "oh crap, it's too late now!" haha, you know you've thought it when you see some kids. It also makes it quicker when parents aren't towing around their kids. I have graduated to 3 weeks now instead of 4 weeks in between appointments. I guess that means I am getting somewhat closer! I can't wait to meet Carson-I wish it would go faster, but I will try to enjoy all the fun kicks and stretches I feel for now. I am even grateful for every kick during the night when I am trying to sleep! I really think after waiting longer to get him, I appreciate all the aches and pains of pregnancy, and there are some now. haha. It's okay Carson, your more than worth it!!!!
I also registered yesterday which took so much longer than I expected. How can a baby need so much stuff?! Before I pressed the trigger on the scanner I would ask myself "do I really need this?". I just don't like a lot of clutter, but I tried to get stuff that we could store pretty easily. I think some spring cleaning is in order to make room for baby stuff. Come on nesting instinct you can kick in any time!

It never ends...
And the work continues on Carson's room...here is his seat cushion covered in super cute cow print fabric. It is so soft and it is washable! My mom and her friend made it last week. It looks so good!
My mom also made the valance out of the wood looking fabric. I love that it looks like a plank of wood, it is so boyish.
We also had crown molding put up by some friends of our family. They did a great job, especially because we have 2 rounded corners that were tricky. I think the molding makes the room look more fresh and clean. It just finished it off really nice. Nine months is a long time to think about things to do to his room, I am surprised I am holding back so much really. haha. I am not the only one way into this though, Eric has had an opinion too, he is so excited and especially being a boy he is totally into getting his room all done and making sure it is 100% boy! I am just glad he let me do something other than sports because I know it will probably be sports soon enough so I was glad to have something different for a while at least. The next big thing is obviously the crib and dresser which we have looked a few times for, but I never seem to find anything I love for his room. It seems when I find a crib I like-the matching dresser is just too darn big for the room. Or the crib is so giant that it would take up the whole room itself. I don't know if anyone else has noticed how big cribs are now! Geez, you would have to have a really big room to have one of these giant cribs, plus all the other furniture. I really want a more simple style crib, most of them are really bulky and they are more solid and you can't even see the cute bumper that goes around the railing. I love the look of the Jenny Lind style cribs (they are more simple) , but they all have the matching open changing table and I want a dresser with drawers and I havn't found one that I could match a dresser with that even comes close. Then I found a set online that I love, but it is a little pricey, but looks really nice. This is more complicated than I thought it would be. I am not overly concerned with it making into a toddler bed or full size bed just because it will hopefully be a crib for a while and toddler beds are cheap so I am not worried about that. I want to love the crib though because however many kids we have, they will all sleep in it and so it will be around a while. So that is the next thing on the list, it is just proving to be harder than we thought. So that is the newest on the room situation. It is a long, but really fun process!
