Pregnancy pictures!

My friend Lorie took some pregnancy pictures for us when I was 29 weeks pregnant, she is such an amazing photographer! Thank you Lorie for taking us to an awesome location to take pictures! It could not have been more gorgeous!!! You can click on her blog and then she has a photography blog where you can check out her amazing photography skills.

The day for pictures started out kinda stressful...I thought it would be nice to get my hair done for the pictures and then have a date night with my husband since we don't get to see each other much. So I called and my hair gal said she could only do it really early in the morning so I asked if there was someone else at the new shop she works at that could do it a little later in the day. She recommended the guy that ended up doing my hair, she just asked who did good hair styles since she was new, it's not her fault. Everyone recommended this one guy. Well it turned out to be the opposite of what I was wanting for that day. I wanted a relaxing hair visit where they would wash it and give me soft casual looking curls for pictures. But it was anything but relaxing, the guy took me back and washed my hair and soaked me in the process because he was in a hurry and I had my clothes for pictures on and my makeup done, and he soaked me. Then he was drying my hair and burning the crap out of my head and everytime I would say ouch he wouldn't say sorry and kept doing it. Then he styled my hair like an 80's texas soccer mom, it was some big ole' hair and looked hideous!!! I mean big curled bangs in the front, 80's at its finest!!! I even asked him to flat iron the ends of my hair and he wouldn't, he was a jerk. Then I said I think it would make my hair look shinier if he would just flat iron it so it didn't look frizzy and he looked at me and just sprayed some shine spray in my hair and that made it look nasty and greasy like I didn't wash my hair. So I didn't want to make a scene so I left very quickly, walking with my head down out to the car, and ran home to try to flat iron it in the little time I had before we needed to go. Eric even looked at me when I walked in like holy moly did you just age 20 years. It was not cute!!! So my relaxing hair day and my hope to feel somewhat attractive being pregnant did not workout, it was a nice try though! Oh well luckily I didn't let it ruin our day, I kept my hormones at bay, and we still had wonderful pictures by Lorie and a nice dinner with my husband. Afterall, it is just hair!

Lorie and I, both pregnant! I'm just a little further along. : )

Turn baby turn!

At today's appointment I found out I am slightly effaced already, I am only 33 weeks so I was told all sorts of things to try to reduce the risk of pre term labor. I will no longer be a gym going gal until the end of my pregnancy, : (. I won't be walking the dog or walking myself on the treadmill. My active days are over until this kid comes out and hopefully that isn't until at least after my shower : ) I am just not ready, I don't have everything he needs, haha. I am to lay down at least an hour in the morning and an hour later in the day. I need to lay down if I feel any contractions ( I have been feeling some when I have been on my feet too much). I am totally thankful it is not bed rest though, so I am not complaining. And the part that makes me a little uneasy is the fact he is in the breech position as of now. He is running out of room so I hope he makes the switch around soon and decides to come out the way I want him to. I don't want a c-section, although we will take a healthy baby however that may be. I have been working hard my whole pregnacy to keep strong abs so that laboring would be easier and I don't want to be cut, I really don't. I also want to be able to get around easier after he is born, I don't want to rely on other people to do stuff, I want to take care of him and feel good doing it. I know no one really wants a c-section usually so it is what it is. So along with other issues I have that I won't share here I am starting to get to the "I am getting to the end and everything is going to hit me at once phase". I am glad Carson is doing good though, I just hope he stays put. I know I can be effaced for a long time and make it to my due date still, so I will just do what I can to not overdue it and the rest is up to when his time to come into this world is. His birthday has already been set and I am just going to trust the doctor's orders and do my part. I hope he does a somersault soon though and stays put at least a couple more weeks!!!

Pregnancy chatter...

As my pregnancy is getting further and further along...people ask and tell stories about pregnancy all the time now. I totally don't mind since I know people are trying to make conversation and be nice. And hey, I waited for this and I am just as excited to talk about it, believe me! And now that it is completely obvious I am pregnant I have to say people are SO nice to pregnant women!!! I mean when I am no longer pregnant I hope a baby in a stroller still produces the same result. : )
Anyways, one of the most common questions is of course what my cravings are. I usually tell people I didn't have any other than food in general, but then I guess I do when I think about it. My whole first trimester I wanted nothing sweet at all, even chocolate grossed me out, hard to believe I know. That changed unfortunately and now I love sweets again although I don't allow myself to have much. I think my biggest craving has really just been cereal and by cereal I mean honey nut cheerios! I think I have eaten half a box today just snacking on them. I guess if I am going to have a mad craving for something I am glad it is that and not milkshakes or something. Another thing I tend to really crave has been peanut butter. I really want a PB&J all the time, but I know it has no nutritional value really so I tend to just stick a spoon in the jar and eat it as a snack. I think by eating lots of veggies and fruit, I just don't crave the salt and sweets like I think I would had if I just let myself have whatever. I havn't really stuck to my diet as much lately (chips at restaurants, way too much cereal and just not cooking a lot while Eric is gone) and I am afraid for the scale next appointment, but I have done good up to this point so I will just go back on the diet if it is too bad this next time.
I am starting to feel big now, I mean chubby. It is strange to watch yourself get bigger and bigger. And why is it that I suddenly have a strong desire to run and ride a bike?! Oh ya, because I know I can't, once I can I won't want to. I have gone to the gym my whole pregnancy so that afterwards I will just stay in the routine of exercising, it won't be such a shock. I am actaully really excited to lose this weight though, I know I will be tired and won't want to workout, but I am determined to get in shape. I think now that I ache all over and really can't do a whole lot I am getting antsy to be able to be more active again. Luckily I am already use to eating lots of salad and veggies so the diet won't be a shocker. As excited as I am for the having Carson here and getting back in shape, I really will miss my chubbiness because I won't feel his cute little kicks and hiccups that I have grown to love.
Well that is enough rambling for now. 7 more weeks left! At least I hope it is 7 or less and not more, we'll see how that goes!

Halle

Thinking of Halle today and all her adorable, chubby cheeked cuteness! And I enjoy thinking of so many of the sweet moments that I was able to witness in her short life. Thank goodness there are so many happy memories for her family to hold onto and cherish. She passed away 2 years ago today.

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

This was the scripture from her service.

Lots of posts and pictures...

This is what happens when you find out your having a boy at 11 weeks 4 days! You end up with a closet full of clothes before your baby shower! And if anyone says boy clothes aren't as cute as girl clothes, HA! They are stinkin' adorable! They have some way cute boy stuff out there!

The crib arrived and is SO perfect!!!! I love it with his bedding.
We have the crib on the wheels until our carpets get cleaned, it looks better without the wheels.

It is a very nice, solid, well made crib--we love it!

Here is the changing table which is just perfect! Exactly what I wanted.

week 32 belly shot...

My belly has really grown a LOT in one week. I had been really sore and my belly itched a lot and sure enough everyone has noticed the growth spurt too. We saw Eric's grandma at the beach then we saw her over Easter and she was like "wow, you've grown a lot in a week". I had noticed it too, my clothes were getting much tighter around the tummy. This was on Easter Sunday, a white skirt may not be very flattering, I resemble a marshmellow. Glad the little guy is growing though!

Beach trip...

Eric thinking, "wow the elephant seals are starting to resemble my pregnant wife", just kidding I said that of course though! : )
They pretty much didn't do anything, not the best time of year to see them fight or play too much, but entertaining to watch anyways.

This is one of the pools at Hearst Castle. Talk about a nice lap pool!

I had actually never been to Hearst Castle so it was pretty cool. It was a really nice day too.

The tile project complete!

Daisy and Eric had been working really hard on the tile. Daisy needed a break.
Here is a picture of the icky linoleum that was in the laundry room/office.
Demolition of the old tile, which was really light, almost white. Very dirty!

Some of the mess we lived in for a LONG time.
The final product that makes all the mess worth it! This is the transition pieces between our other flooring throughout.

Now our flooring is all the same throughout most of the house. No more showroom floors! Eric is still working on baseboards, but the tile is done!!! : )

Exhausted!

I am so exhausted, I think this little life inside of me is sucking every ounce of energy I have. I am not tired of pregnancy, pregnancy is just making me tired. Even though I have been sleepy I still do a lot that I probably shouldn't. I am on my feet a lot even when I think my body needs a rest. It is hard though- the tile project is done, except for the base boards. It looks very nice and it is worth it now, at the time I thought I was going to lose my mind, I think Eric was scared for his life at one point, haha. So my house is starting to look more livable now and the nesting instinct has kicked in. I was worried I wasn't going to get it there for a while. haha. I have been cleaning like a mad woman. My latest addiction are the space saver bags, what a great thing for nesting gals! It organizes and makes so much more room once all the blankets, quilts, and extra bedding is vacuum sealed and tucked under the bed, it is so fun! I am going to get the ones for our coats to hang in the closet too. Anyway, my body is so sore from all the activity I probably shouldn't be doing. Eric would totally clean for me, but I havn't really seen him in a few days with overtime and school and clinicals, the last thing I am going to do is complain to him because then he would clean on top of everything else he is doing. So I am trying to do it all myself, until today, my mom came and cleaned our new tile with vinegar and water with a rag. So glad I didn't have to bend over and do that!!! I don't think I would get back up I am so sore. So that was a very nice help! I think I can do stuff until I do then the next day I totally regret it. I wake up feeling like I've aged 50 years. I have cut back on going to the gym so much and exercising all the time. The fear of pre-term labor kinda scares me a little and I know I have been overdoing it. I realize that a couple more pounds is way better than me pushing it. I am trying to let go of my obsessive fear of gaining too much weight. And Eric is really great, so don't think he makes me feel bad, he tells me all the time to eat more (I eat, I am not and never will be a person that doesn't eat-I mean come on! haha.) and not overdo it, this is totally my own obsession. Eric says only nice things, he knows better! haha.

Carson continues to be very active! And the belly continues to grow bigger and bigger, I totally stink at taking belly shots. This tile project in the middle of my nesting craze has done a number on me, the "pregnancy brain damage" as I call it can get bad at times, just ask Eric.

Oh and I have just two months to go!!! Eric started his last quarter before summer break and it is like our countdown now. You see Carson's due date is around Eric's finals, so as much as he dreads each class I tell him each class is closer to when we meet our son! We are SO thankful that it worked out that Eric will be off of school for summer with Carson and I. That will be so nice! I couldn't imagine my due date being in the middle of a school quarter for him, he can actually enjoy having a baby instead of stressing about it. Eric already talked with his teacher and will finish up a week or so earlier so when the little man comes he won't be stressing about school. That has eased some of his stress for sure.

Well that is pretty much it, just a lot of re-organizing before my shower so I have a place for things to go and I won't be so overwhelmed with organizing all of it. Oh I can't wait to see all the cute baby things for our very own baby!!! : ) I still have to pinch myself sometimes, we really are going to have a baby soon of our own.
